We're still here :)

The blog has been on hold, but life continues as usual. Since the last post we have moved houses and spent a month in the States. We are in the process of looking for accommodation in Oxford where we plan to move within the next couple of months. In the meantime, the boys are spending a lot of time outdoors and experimenting with new paints and other art/craft supplies that we brought back from the US.
I have been preparing for the next school year which we plan to officially start in August.

Monkey Business Video

I do have a few photos from this week's school lessons, however, with packing and other responsibilities, uploading photos hasn't been a top priority. Hopefully I'll get to them soon. In the meantime, I thought I'd post the boys monkey performance (since I now know how to upload videos to blogger).

You are my sunshine!

We read about Aztec life:
and then made handprint suns:
I'm trying to give Caleb some creative freedom:

Monkey Business

I've completely neglected blogging of late, but school has continued as usual. I'll show a few highlights from the last week and a half.

This was one of our favorite activities! We made finger puppets and the boys performed Five Little Monkeys Jumping in the Bed
Caleb wasn't really part of the performance, but he snuck in anyway:
Connect the dots has been fun. Noah traced with his right hand and then colored with his left:
We made a monkey friend. The matching shirt is purely coincidental:
The boys collected loads of woodlice, snails, and slugs:
Noah wanted me to take a picture of him running. He likes to keep his pjs under his clothes which often results in some interesting attire:
I've finally convinced the boys not to pick the flowers:
Here's Coop working on his nest:
and Caleb choosing a writing utensil:
Another beautiful day called for an entire afternoon outside.
Coop challenged me to a game of tic tac toe:
and then I worked on my hat:
while he worked with his pruners:
Noah joined us after his nap and inspected a spider:

Greek and Geography

Nick taught the boys again last Friday.
We began studying Europe in geography today. After checking out our atlas, we read This is Britain. Cooper flipped through the book before we began, pointed out Edinburgh Castle and said, "We've been there. We saw Peter Pan at a theatre down here (pointing to the approximate location of the Lyceum Theatre)." He was correct. It seems he did not inherit my sense of direction.

Crafty Days

After school on Tuesday, Cooper not only helped me cook, but poured a bowl of soup for everyone and set the table. I was getting ready for church and had no idea he was doing this.
On Wednesday, we painted paper plates:
and created lions:
Caleb was pleased:
Today, we began working on ladybug prints:

Rhythm Down Under

Last Thursday, we learned a little about Kangaroos and Australia.
Then it was on to a music lesson on rhythm:
Nick took over on Friday. While Cooper worked on his reading lesson, Nick had Noah practice writing his name:
Nick also did some math, geography, history and Greek with the boys.
